Balusters
Balusters (derived from the Greek word for the pomegranate flower) are short columns, normally with a round cross section. They are also called "rungs of a ladder".
Obernkirchener Sandstein® is durable. Even the most detailed design elements withstand environmental impacts for generations. It requires no maintenance, no chemical treatment and endures without structural protection. This longevity also saves on costs.
Obernkirchener Sandstein® is a practically environmentally neutral building material that exudes tradition, warmth and elegance. It features excellent technical values: it has a dry density comparable to normal concrete and has a four times higher compressive strength than a C20/25.

Closers are flat, frost-resistant sandstone tiles used to cover walls. Traditionally, they are about 20 mm thick. We break them up specifically for this use, in order to create the characteristic broken surface.
A column is a perpendicular, free-standing support. Columns classically support rooftops, gables, arches or arcades of a building, either replacing walls completely or partially.
Cover plates made of Obernkirchener Sandstein® act simultaneously as design elements and constructive protection.
Stone carvings in Obernkirchen have a thousand-year tradition that has been passed down from generation to generation.
Obernkirchener Sandstein® facades are durable, resistant to environmental impacts and require only a small amount of optical care.
Facing masonry is the weather-resistant outer shell of a building, which serves no structural purpose. Obernkirchener Sandstein® is particularly suited for this kind of structure.
Fireplaces and stoves are spaces to light a fire in the house for heating living areas.
Sandstone floor coverings are timeless. Generally, sandstone is considered open-pored and soft; worn down steps and well-sanded surfaces are a frequent occurrence.
The sphere is a classic yet timeless form. In architecture it serves as decoration on rooftops or at the foot of the stairs, in gardens and landscaping, as an ornament in flowerbeds or as a design element.
Stairs are levels that go up or down to enable a comfortable and slip-resistant way to overcome height differences.
Obernkirchener Sandstein® is one of the oldest wall building materials in the world. It stands for value and durability.
Cornices are an old and important design element in European architecture. They also have a purpose in terms of construction by protecting the wall below from weathering.
