The shipping company HAPAG (now HAPAG-Lloyd) established its new central administration building in Hamburg on the banks of the Inner Alster Lake.
The prestigious, highly structured façade of Obernkirchener Sandstein® originally featured a statue of Neptune, presiding over the centre of the roof. Four towering statues created the frame for the impressive entranceway.
